A History of Innovation
Donald J. Bell and Albert S. Howell formed Bell & Howell in Chicago in 1907. The company became the leader in camera, film and projector technologies for the motion picture industry. Bell & Howell and its employees even won four Academy Awards for technical achievement.
Bell & Howell entered the document scanner business in 1986. Since then, the company has built a reputation as an industry trendsetter. In 2002 BÖWE SYSTEC acquired Bell & Howell, forming BÖWE BELL + HOWELL, a company that continues to push the boundaries of document scanning today.
